# Managing Members Book Owners have full control over who's in the book and what they can do. Manage roles, remove members, and keep your team organized. > [!quote] The Right People, The Right Access > Good collaboration starts with clear roles. Keep your books ==secure and organized== by managing members proactively. ## Viewing Members 1. Open the book 2. Click **Members** to see everyone in the book 3. Each member shows their **name**, **role**, and **join date** ## Changing a Member's Role Owners can change any member's role: 1. Go to **Members** 2. Click on the member you want to update 3. Select their new role: **Viewer**, **Member**, or **Owner** 4. The change takes effect immediately > [!tip] Promote when needed > If a trusted Member needs to invite people or manage the book, promote them to **Owner**. You can always change it back. ## Removing a Member Owners can remove any member from the book: 1. Go to **Members** 2. Click the **remove** option next to the member 3. Confirm the removal > [!note] What happens when a member is removed > - They immediately lose access to the book and all its contacts > - Contacts they created remain in the book > - They can be re-invited later if needed ## Key Rules - Only **Owners** can manage members - A book must always have at least one Owner - Removed members can be re-invited at any time - Role changes take effect immediately for all actions > [!success] The Key Idea > Keep your books secure by regularly reviewing members and their roles.
