# Teams Teams add an **organisational layer** above your books. Create a team to share books with colleagues, manage members centrally, track activity, and access the REST API. > [!quote] Built for Organisations > Teams give you ==centralised control== over shared address books, billing, and integrations. ## How Teams Work 1. **Create a team** from the Team Dashboard 2. **Invite members** via email — they join for free (the team covers the cost) 3. **Assign books** to the team — all members get access 4. **Manage everything** from one dashboard Team books appear in every member's sidebar with a **Team** separator, alongside their personal books. ## Team vs Personal Books | | Personal Books | Team Books | |---|---|---| | **Visibility** | Only you (and anyone you invite) | All team members | | **Billing** | Your own plan | Covered by team plan | | **Pro features** | Requires personal Pro | Included for all team books | | **Management** | You manage members | Team admin manages centrally | ## Creating a Team 1. Click the **team icon** in the sidebar, or navigate to `#/team` 2. Click **Create Your Team** 3. Enter a team name 4. You become the team **admin** > [!note] Team billing > Teams are billed at **$10/month base** plus **$2/member/month**. The team owner pays — invited members don't need their own subscription. ## The Team Dashboard The Team Dashboard is your central hub, with tabs for: - **Overview** — stats and recent activity - **Members** — invite, remove, and manage roles - **Books** — assign and unassign books - **Billing** — plan details and cost breakdown (admin only) - **API & Webhooks** — API keys and webhook configuration (admin only) > [!tip] Admin vs Member > Only **admins** see the Billing and API & Webhooks tabs. Regular members see Overview, Members, and Books. > [!success] The Key Idea > Teams let you manage shared address books at an organisational level — centralised billing, member management, and integrations, all from one dashboard. --- **Next:** Learn about [[Inviting Team Members]] and managing your team.
